Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center is located on the spectacular north Oregon coast, 75 NW of Portland in the quaint resort town of Cannon Beach, recently named 7th best beach in the nation. In addition to tasteful meals, the center offers a recreational facility open to all guests. Cannon Beach and the surrounding area offers many activities and places of interest. From walking on the beach, browsing local art galleries & shops, to excellent dining, there is something for everyone. Points of interest include: Haystack Rock, Cheese Factory, Historical places, Aquarium, and Seaside.
ACCOMODATIONS:
Lodging and meeting room will take place in the Beach Front Lodge. This lodge features ocean view rooms, private bath with shower plus baths and two queen beds per room. It has 20 rooms available. Participants will also have access to the Conference Center's Recreation Facility where the gym has been equipped with the latest sports equipment, whether it is for a game of basketball, volleyball, etc.
Check-In is Friday, March 19th @ 3:00; Check-Out is Sunday, November 21 @ 2:00.
FOOD:
· FRIDAY, March 19th - couples are responsible for own dinners. There are many great restaurants available in Cannon Beach.
· SATURDAY, March 20th - breakfast provided in Beach Front Lodge or Main Dining Hall (which facility to be determined based on our number of retreat participants). Couples are responsible for their own lunch. Dinner provided by the conference center at either two dining facilities.
· SUNDAY, March 21st - breakfast provided. Lunch is couple's responsibility.
The final menu will be known 4-6 weeks prior to the retreat. At that time, WPC needs to contact Cannon Beach Christian Center with any special food requests/allergies.
Cost:
$275.00 per couple plus $29.95 for online assessment. Retreat registration and payment deadline is February 14th. Please complete online assessment.by February 14th. Can make a $75.00 deposit at time of registration, full amount due February 14th. This includes the following: 2 Nights + 2 Breakfast + 1 Dinner. This rate includes taxes, gratuity, lodging, linens, meals, standard audio-visual equipment and a meeting room
CURRICULUM:
We will use the Couple Checkup online assessment and curriculum, based on the PREPARE/ENRICH Program. The goal is to build stronger marriages:
· Help couples celebrate their strengths and identify their growth areas.
· Encourage couples to dialogue about their relationship in meaningful and productive ways.
· Increase practical relationship skills in Communication, Conflict Resolution, Closeness, Flexibility and Financial Management.
· Increase their understanding of multiple relationship issues including Personality Issues, Affection & Sex, Spiritual Beliefs, Roles, Expectations and Family of Origin issues.
Couple's Online Assessment:
· PREPARE/ENRICH is a customized couple assessment completed online that identifies a couple's strength and growth areas. Each couple must complete the assessment prior to attending the retreat. The results of the survey are confidential and will only be shared with Pastor Christine. The cost per couple is $29.95 and must be paid online at the time of taking the survey. What to bring:
Warm clothing, toiletries, board games, cards, bibles, camera, and one appetizer/snack to share 1 day at the retreat
Directions:
Follow I-5, heading south to Exit 36 at Longview. Exit right, heading west and following signs to Oregon Hwy 30. Exit right just after the bridge, following 30 (west) for almost 50 miles to and through Astoria. Take highway 101 through Seaside. Continue sout to Cannon Beach. Take the first main entrance into Cannon Beach. At second stop sign, take a left into Cannon Beach Conference Center. We are in Beach Front Lodge over- looking the ocean
